Off-Campus Access

Description

There are certain online resources and services that are only available to people affliated with the University, which are readily accessible while being on the U of T network. However, if you are off-campus, there are a number of tools that may be able to grant you access these resources.

UTORvpn

UTORvpn is restricted to faculty, staff, and graduate students. It creates a direct connection to U of T's network, giving your computer a University IP address.

Migration Notice: UTORvpn is undergoing a migration from OpenVPN to Cisco's ASA VPN. Please refer to https://isea.utoronto.ca/services/vpn/utorvpn/ for documentation on the new service. Anyone wanting to use UTORvpn will need to begin using the AnyConnect client by the end of summer 2019.

Windows Vista and up configuration instructions — These instructions cover installing the UTORvpn client on Windows Vista, 7, 8 and 10.

Mac OSX 10.4 and higher configuration instructions — These instructions cover installing the UTORvpn client on Mac OS X 10.4 and later.

Android - These instructions cover installing the OpenVPN Connect application and the UTORvpn configuration file on Android 4.0 or later.

iOS -  These instructions cover installing the OpenVPN Connect application and the UTORvpn configuration file on iOS 5.0 or later.

Eduroam

Eduroam is a wireless network allowing network access when visiting other institutions also participating in the eduroam program.

My.Access

My.access is a service administered by the Library that grants users access to restricted U of T websites. If you are accessing a resource linked from a University site (such as the Library) you may be automatically redirected thorugh my.access.
