Screen captures can be useful in the Help Desk's troubleshooting efforts when you contact us with issues.
To take a screen capture:
On Windows
- Most keyboards will have a button labelled with PrtScn. Press this button to take a screen capture of the entire screen.
- To take a screen capture of just one window or message, hold down the Alt key while pressing PrtScn.
Once you do one of the above, you can go into Word or compose an email message and press Ctrl + V to paste the screen capture in a document or an email message.
On Mac
- Press Command + Shift + 3 to take a screen capture of the entire screen.
- Press Command + Shift + 4 to take a partial screen capture - you will get a cursor that you can use to drag a selection area.
The screen capture will be saved to your desktop with a name that begins with "Screen Shot".
