Outlook 2013 (Windows 8)

After installing Microsoft Outlook 2013, follow these instructions to set up UTORmail on your Windows 8 computer.

1. Start Outlook. If this is your first time using Outlook, you will be taken through the Setup Wizard. Click Next.
2. Select Manual setup and click Next.
   
   
   
   
3. Select POP or IMAP as the service type. Click Next.
   
   
   
   
4. Enter your User Information. Take note of the Server Information. Choose IMAP as the Account Type. Enter proxy.mail.utoronto.ca as the Incoming mail server, and smtp.utoronto.ca as the Outgoing mail server. Then click on More Settings...
   
   
   
   
5. Under the Outgoing Server tab, check My outgoing server requires authentication and Use same settings as my incoming mail server
   
   
   
   
6. Under the Advanced tab, ensure the Incoming server is 143 and the encryption type is set to AUTO. For the Outgoing server set the encryption type to TLS and change the port number to 587.
   
   
   
   
7. If you see this Internet Security Warning, click YES.
   
   
   
   
8. You should see a Test Account Settings window appear and if successful you can click Close to continue.
9. Click Finish!
