Connecting to UofT Wireless with Linux

Note: these instructions are specifically for Ubuntu. Not all Linux distributions have the same setup options

  1. Click Activities in the top right hand corner to bring up the search menu. Alternatively click the super key on the keyboard (Windows Key or Command on an Apple workstation).

    Open Activities

  2. Search for wireless and click Wi-Fi. If you have an older version of Ubuntu, search for network and open the Network folder.

  3. Click the UofT Wi-fi network.

    Select UofT

  4. Use the following settings to configure the network
    1. Wi-Fi security: WPA & WPA2 Enterprise
    2. Authentication: Protected EAP (PEAP)
    3. Checkmark No CA certificate is required
    4. PEAP version: Automatic
    5. Inner authentication: MSCHAPv2
    6. Username: UTORid
    7. Password: UTORid password
